Call for Mural Proposals

The Des Plaines Arts Council announces an open call for proposals for an outdoor mural to be installed on the Des Plaines History Center building, located at 781 Pearson Street, Des Plaines, IL 60016

The images should address themes relating to Des Plaines history. The Des Plaines Arts Council has budgeted $5,000 for this commission, to cover the costs of materials, installation, and artists fees.

The call for proposals will be open until January 11, 2019.

Art Moves Des Plaines

Tobi Abrams is the featured artist for First Thursdays at the Frisbie for November 2018. There will be a reception on Thursday, November 1 from 5 – 7 PM.

The 2018 Art Moves Des Plaines Pop-Up exhibit is now on display in Metropolitan Square, and will be ending on December 7, 2018.

The Des Plaines Arts Council meets on the second Tuesday of each month (except August and December) at 7:30 am at the Prairie Lakes Community Center, 515 E. Thacker St., Des Plaines.
