With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Des Plaines Arts Council currently limits its selected programs. However, we continue to promote the arts throughout the Des Plaines community and Chicagoland area as a whole. From Art Moves to Chalk Fest there are plenty of ways to show your support for our ongoing mission!
DPAC Public Arts initiative
As part of our continual commitment to the city of Des Plaines, the Des Plaines Arts Council accepts proposals for public art from local artists. Public art proposals can include murals, sculpture installations, and pop-up performances, and may be displayed throughout our city.
2022 Draw Des Plaines Chalk Fest
The Chalk Festival features 3-dimensional works of art, composed solely in chalk and tempera paint. This year, Draw Des Plaines Chalk Fest takes place on Saturday, August 13th, 2022 on the sidewalk in front of the Des Plaines Public Library, located at 1501 Ellinwood Ave in Des Plaines.
Des Plaines Chamber Art Gallery
As a co-operative venture, the Des Plaines Chamber of Commerce Art Gallery acts as a venue for global artists. In doing so, it allows artists from around the world to promote and sell their work, while simultaneously supporting the arts throughout the Des Plaines community.
Art at the Frisbie Senior Center
The Frisbie Senior Center provides a community for Chicago’s Northwest Suburban senior citizens. In cooperation with the Des Plaines Arts Council and the Des Plaines Art Guild, our program supports art pieces, which are displayed throughout the center for all to enjoy!
